Dr. Jazz reunion and a change again

The nicest gigs are the ones for an audience of afficionado's. Saturday 19 October 1996 the band plays at the 64th Jazz reunion of Dr.Jazz. They keep their audience in theater Junushof in Wageningen captivated from the start, but after a few numbers it happens : The P.A. system completely breaks down, while the band is playing 'Lily of the Valley'. The audience ( a couple of hundred people ) immediately quiets down a bit and joins the band in the 'unplugged' version of this well-known song.

Changes in the band can work out for the better, the band had plenty of experience with that, but sometimes changes simply hurt. During 1996 Atie, wife of trumpet player Dick Roelofs, falls ill. Dick has to put all his energy into her care, and simply can't play in the band anymore. On Januari 4th, 1997 the band says goodbye to Dick, and Jaap Mook takes his place afterwards. During 1996 Jaap already replaced Dick a couple of times, his first gig with the band was Sunday Spetember 1996 at the Jazzfestival in Purmerend. Before, he had been playing in Big Mama's New orleans Jazzband, that was dissolved at the end of 1996.

This formation of the band would last 5 years. TOF 1997-2002
